As an agent, I’m always looking for new selling points for the artists on our roster when reaching out to talent buyers. With my background in Public Relations, I’ve recently utilized this strategy in order to gain press for our artists, especially with new music they release. We really stress the importance of not only producing and mixing music, but promoting it by utilizing different press outlets like blogs.

As an example, one of our artist’s tracks was quickly rising on the Beatport charts. I took this opportunity to reach out to media outlets to gain additional press through interviews and track reviews. Once the features were published, I was able to include this in my pitch to talent buyers, which in turn, proved to them that this was an artist with a growing fan base. As a result, we gained a new client, but also our artist had materials to share on their social media.
